Funding opportunities for companies

Updated:

Companies in Saxony, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), face particular challenges when it comes to recruiting and integrating international skilled workers. This makes it all the more important to be aware of the available funding opportunities and to make targeted use of them. Here you will find an overview of relevant support offers.

Overview of support services

SMEs in Saxony can receive grants for additional expenses incurred if they employ international trainees, dual students or skilled workers from third countries.

Funding is available for up to:

  • three employment relationships per company
  • three dual training or study relationships per company

Important: The employment, study or training relationship must have been in place for at least six months without interruption when you submit the application. The application must be submitted by the end of the first year of employment or by the end of the first training or study relationship at the latest.

Scope of consultancy:

  • Minimum of two and maximum of 32 hours within six months
  • Maximum of four subject areas

Partial qualification (TQ) offers a step-by-step and practical alternative for adults aged 25 and over for whom traditional vocational training is not an option for various reasons.

This form of qualification is aimed at

  • Adults over the age of 25 for whom conventional vocational training is not an option
  • Low-skilled employees or people without a (usable) vocational qualification
  • Job seekers and unemployed people without a vocational qualification
  • People who want to return to work after a long absence
  • People who are not suitable for long periods of retraining
  • Skilled workers with a need for adaptation training, e.g. due to technical and structural changes

Partial qualifications can be funded by the Federal Employment Agency as degree-oriented qualification measures.

The TQplus model is particularly suitable for international employees: it allows additional time per module for language training and technical support to improve integration. Participation requires a language level of at least B1 (CEFR).

If you would like to find out more, please contact the employer service of your employment agency - they will provide you with individual advice on the right qualification strategy for your company.

If your employees have language barriers in their day-to-day work, vocational language courses (BSK) can help:

  • Basic courses: language skills and basic knowledge of professional life and everyday working life in Germany
  • Work-related language courses:
    • Job-BSK for employees
    • BSK for trainees accompanying their training
    • BSK for people in the recognition process

The content can be adapted to the needs of your company and enables rapid learning success thanks to the practical approach.

Costs:

  • usually free of charge
  • For participants with an annual income of over 20,000 euros (or over 40,000 euros if jointly assessed), there is a cost contribution of 2.56 euros per teaching unit (corresponds to 50% of the eligible course costs, i.e. around 1,024 euros per person). As an employer, you can pay this contribution voluntarily and thus make a targeted investment in the linguistic and professional integration of your employees.

Language-related and specialist further training can be funded under certain conditions. Talk to the employer service of your local employment agency.

Your local employer service will inform you about current legal funding opportunities. Companies can also benefit from various public projects and programs.
