The path to Saxony begins in your home country. In addition to the German diplomatic missions abroad, there are many contact points that can provide you with information about life, the language and career opportunities in Saxony.

Contact points at a glance
The German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHK ) are important points of contact for private individuals and companies wishing to do business in Germany. They work closely with the regional Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK), including those of the Free State of Saxony. They are active in over 93 countries and support international trade at 150 locations.
For potential skilled workers and employees, the AHK offers advice on fair migration and the recognition of qualifications, among other things. In the ProRecognition project, the AHK advises on the recognition of qualifications in Germany in several countries (Algeria, Brazil, Colombia,Egypt, India, Indonesia, Morocco, the Philippines and Turkey).
The Free State of Saxony has several offices abroad where you can find out about opportunities in Saxony. The following offices abroad are currently coordinated by the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture and Tourism (SMWK) and the universities in Saxony:
Saxon Science Liaison Office in Mongolia
The Saxon Science Liaison Office Mongolia promotes the international visibility and attractiveness of Saxon universities. It supports prospective students with their application, offers advice on study and research opportunities and builds partnerships with local universities.

Saxon Science Liaison Office in Uzbekistan
The Saxon Science Liaison Office Uzbekistan, located at the University of Geological Sciences in Tashkent and under the leadership of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, serves as a central point of contact for academic cooperation between Saxony and Uzbekistan.

Saxon Science Liaison Office in Taiwan
The Saxon Science Liaison Office Taiwan, operated by TU Dresden on behalf of all Saxon universities and research institutions, promotes scientific exchange between Saxony and Taiwan. It coordinates programs such as the Semiconductor Talent Incubation Program (STIPT), which enables students from Saxony to spend six months at the National Taiwan University in Taipei followed by practical phases at TSMC in Taichung.

Saxon Science Liaison Office in India
The Saxon Science Liaison Office India, operated by the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) on behalf of all Saxon universities and research institutions, promotes scientific exchange between the Free State of Saxony and India. Based in Chennai, the office initiates partnerships for academic cooperation, student and researcher exchanges and joint projects, particularly in the STEM subjects. It acts as a central point of contact for Indian partners.

Saxon Science Liaison Office in Vietnam
The Saxon Science Liaison Office Vietnam aims to attract students and potential specialists to Saxony. It supports Vietnamese students in gaining access to Saxon universities and promotes academic exchange between universities and research institutions in Saxony and Vietnam.

In addition to learning the German language, you will also learn a lot about German culture at the Goethe-Instituts. Regular events can create important networks that make it easier to live and work in Saxony
There are numerous German foundations around the world through which you can establish initial networks and make contacts with German communities. Some foundations award scholarships or provide employment opportunities.

- Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) - Focuses on democracy, education and development cooperation.
- Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) - Promotes social democracy and political education.
- Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) - Supports liberal values and human rights.
- Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBS) - Promotes ecological sustainability, democracy and equal rights.
- Rosa Luxemburg Foundation (RLS) - Advocates social justice and left-wing political education.
- Hans Seidel Foundation (HSS) - Focuses on the promotion of democracy, peace and development.
Private institutes often offer language courses, career counseling and help with visas or professional development. They promote exchanges with Germany, improve qualifications and facilitate contacts. Thanks to their cooperation with German partners, their offers are often of high quality.
Among other things, the Startfinder program supports people who want to come to Germany to work. Centers for migration and development have already been set up in some countries for this purpose. You will receive free and confidential advice there.
The project "Prepared and successful in Germany - migration advice before entering the country" offers free and independent advice before you leave for Germany - for example for work, training, studies or family reunification. The advice includes information on visas, language courses, recognition of qualifications and application processes. There are currently local advice centers in Ethiopia, Albania, Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Morocco, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.
